Recently Professor Smith was featured in Parts 1 and 3 of the three-part BBC documentary series, Becoming Frida Kahlo, which examines the life and work of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. It was produced by the award-winning UK based company, Rogan Productions, and directed by Louse Lockwood. The documentary premiered in the U.K on March 10, 2023 and on PBS in the U.S. on September 19. Most recently, she presented a talk, “The League of Revolutionary Writers and Artists (LEAR): The Radical Politics of Mexican Prints,” as part of the Study Day for the Mexican Prints at the Vanguard exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum of Art (December 2024).
